Sisters of Battle vs Space Marine Tactics

So I recently played my first game with my sisters of battle yesterday. I learned several things just from my first battle, but also keep in mind these tactics are just stuff I learned after playing only one game of sisters of battle.

1.) Seraphem - These are amazing. I really did not want them at first but I am now seeing how effective they are. Strap them up with melta bombs and honestly as of right now I would not give them any upgrades besides that. I used them as dreadnaught hunting. I ended up killing a rhino in close combat and then killed his dreadnaught in close combat, all thanks to the wonderful things called melta bombs. In the future I plan on seeing their usefulness as anti infantry (seeing that they can have flamers :) but as for now they are my anti tank specialists)

2.) Flame throwers - strong attack that auto hits, what more can you ask for. These are great. For me they took out a full tac squad of 6 space marines just with two flamers.

3.) Arbites, not storm troopers - My storm troopers really did not do much for me this game. Yes rapid fire hellguns are pretty good, but they just did not do much. Sure my shot gun wielding arbits did not do much, but the flame throwers sure did :)

4.) Exorcists (did not do anything) - I was disapointed by this vehicle. I was told by every body I knew and every forum that these are the best things you can have... This was not so. The entire game my budies predator and my exorcist traded shots doing absolutely nothing. Now I am not saying don't take exorcists, they obviously are fairly strong after surviving 4 turns of predator shooting, but I would use them to take out dreadnaughts and rhinos, not predators, and defiently not landraiders.

5.) Sisters of Battle Squads of Twenty - Having more troops helped me, but I think having 10 sisters in a rhino could be better, but I dont know yet.

6.) Make sure you fully understand the rules for sarephem, how they can leap out of assaults and such.

7.) USE FAITH POINTS - I had 7 faith points at beginning of game, I lost 1 squad of seraphem, at the end of the game I had 8 faith points, I did not use any of my faith points.

8.) THE MOST IMPORTANT ONE! - Keep your sisters between 12- 7 inches from the enemy. Assault and sisters of battle do not mix.... EVER. Sisters suck in assault end of discussion.


In conclusion, after this first game I have decided I am for sure on witch hunters. This game I used space marines to represent sisters of battle. Sisters of battle are awesome Just keep them out of close combat with space marines.
